The Corvette has a long-standing legacy of innovation, performance, and design excellence, making it a flagship model for General Motors. The development and production of each new Corvette model receives significant attention and resources from GM due to its importance in the company's portfolio and its status as a symbol of automotive excellence. GM began producing the Mid-Engine Corvette, also known as the Corvette C8, for the 2020 model year. Overall, the transition to a mid-engine layout in the Corvette represents a significant engineering advancement aimed at elevating performance and driving dynamics to new levels.

In August 2017, GM reached out to GTP, seeking assistance with an engine cover program for the 2020 Mid-Engine Corvette. Recognizing the need for a comprehensive solution provider, GM entrusted GTP with their revised plans. GTP swiftly developed a plan, obtained final design approval by September, sourced materials by October, delivered the first article in March 2018, and completed PPAP for the cover by June 2018. This timeline underscores the collective dedication of the entire GTP team, ensuring the successful execution of the program.
